Before your float session
A credit card number is required to hold your float appointment, whether booking online or over the phone. This card will not be charged until your float appointment.
* Please note: we do have a 24-hour cancellation policy.
Please do not book a float after you've had a massage that same day. We work really hard to maintain an impeccable and sterile environment for every floater who comes in and having massage oils on your skin will not come off after a quick shower before getting in to our tanks.
If you are planning on floating at the same time as someone else (you in one tank and them in the other), please use their name and information when booking them. This prevents delays when you arrive for your appointment.
What to expect during your float session
Arrive and check in for your appointment. We ask that you please do not arrive earlier than 10 minutes prior to your float appointment time.
We provide a shower, shampoo and soaps, towels, ear plugs, and other amenities to help you prepare before getting into the float tank and after your float session. Please honor these healing waters - there is a private shower in each float tank room, where you can wash away lotions, conditioners, etc. Taking a shower before floating is not optional - it helps keep the water and tanks in optimal condition.
The tanks have a built in speaker system that allows live streaming from your cellphone. Some floaters enjoy guided meditation, nature sequences, or music while others prefer absolute silence. Both tanks provide total darkness with the ability to browse through a sequence of colors if you prefer light.
Float Tank FAQs
ARE THERE ANY RESTRICTIONS ON WHO CAN FLOAT?
You should not float if you are presently ill, have incontinence, kidney problems, epilepsy or have an active skin condition. People with severe medical conditions or are pregnant, should consult their physician before floating. Due to the weightless effect in the tank, pregnant women in the later stages of pregnancy have found flotation tank therapy to be one of the best available pain relief therapies available.
WHY DO I NEED MY CREDIT CARD TO BOOK A FLOAT SESSION?
Every time that a float room is booked, you are reserving the room when others could have used it. When clients do not show up for their appointments or cancel within 24 hours, we will charge a mandatory $25.00 cancellation fee. We will never charge the credit card before your appointment.
HOW ARE THE TANKS KEPT CLEAN AND DISINFECTED?
There is 1,200 pounds of medical grade Epsom salt dissolved in each of our tanks. Salinity is at 1.37 grams per cubic centimeter. The solution is so high in saline that no living microorganism can survive in there. After each session, the entire volume of the solution is pumped out and filtered through a three part filtration and sterilization system utilizing Ultra Violet light and H2O2 (ozone gas treatment). In addition all clients are required to be 100% clean prior to entering the tank.
Aquarius and Poseidon are regulated daily by our float facilitation staff. In-between appointments each tank is cleaned and the water is treated. Keeping our tanks and water quality in pristine condition is a top priority at Source On High. Click to see our monthly report from Bluegrass KESCO Inc., where our water is tested each month.
WOULD I SINK BELOW THE WATER IF I FELL ASLEEP?
The depth of the solution is about 10.5 inches and the density is such that it will always support you, regardless of your size or weight. If you were to turn over the salt in the water would sting your eyes and wake you. Since you are floating, you do not need to know how to swim. Additionally, it’s not dangerous to fall asleep in the tank, it’s actually encouraged.
DO I WEAR A SWIM SUIT?
We recommend that you float in the nude to experience optimal deprivation but you are welcome to wear a swim suit if you prefer.
DO I NEED TO BRING ANYTHING?
No! We will provide your float room with:
A private shower
Shampoo, conditioner and body wash.
Hooks by the door to hang your clothing
An amenity basket of Q-tips, Vaseline, hair brush, comb, ear plugs, and tissues.
